The slider on the top right hand side of the plugin window adjusts how many buffers the FFT data is averaged across. This in turn displays more instantaneous or a slower moving spectrum. Both the frequency and the gain values are scaled logarithmically to better visualise the data as is standard for most frequency visualisers. The spectrum uses C weighted frequency response values to better visualise the audio. This is standard practice in the industry.
